GAZIPUR: Seven workers sustained severe burn injuries when a devastating fire broke out at a factory in Chandara area of the district on Monday morning.
The injured workers of Agami Washing Limited were, initially, rushed to local hospital.
Later, Fazlur Rahman with 25 percent burns injuries while Abul Hossian 70 percent, Dulal Mia 60 percent, Yasin Ahmed 25 percent, Jahidul Haque, 15 percent, Malek 43 percent ad Rehana 90 percent burns were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, he added.
DMCH burn unit resident surgeon Partha Shangker Paul said the condition of all victims is critical as respiratory system of them were severely burnt.
Earlier Saiful, a co-worker of the burn victims, said some workers were asleep at a room of the factory on Sunday night. At 6:45am on Monday, a fire broke out at the factory from its new gas line, leaving them severely burnt.
DMCH police camp Assistant Sub-Inspector Sentu Chandra Das confirmed the matter to banglanews.
The cause of fire could not be known immediately, he added.
