DHAKA:  Inspector General of Police Shahidul Haque Tuesday said polling is underway in free and fair manner. We have no information about any kind of chaos or trouble in polling stations.

After visiting Mohammadapur poling center under Dhaka South City Corporation, he told reporters while visiting the center of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in the morning.

He said during visit to a polling station of Mohammadapur, one of the women voters alleged that she has not getting the number of voters. At the time, he ordered the officer on duty to look after the matter.

Voters cast their votes in peaceful environment without facing any trouble, the IGP added.

Amid tight security, voters started casting their ballots to elect new mayors of Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chittagong City Corporations on Tuesday morning.

Voting that started at 8:00am will continue till 4:00pm.
