DHAKA: State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haq Chunnu Friday said labour regulations will be formulated by June 30 aimed at establishing the workers' rights.
He was addressing a rally on the occasion of May Day in front of the National Press Club organized by the labor union on Friday.
At the rally, the Labour minister said, the government is working to establish the rights of workers. Of this continuation, the labour regulations are being formulated. Hopefully, we will be able to finish the work by June 30.
He informed the audiences, “The government is doing so which needs to be done as if accident like Rana Plaza collapse will never happen in the country.”
Shipping Minister Shahajhan Khan, addressing the rally, said, the incumbent government is one of the labor-friendly rulers. The Awami League-led government is taking one after another development programs to improve the fate of the workers.
Criticizing BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, he also said that her (Khaleda Zia) passion and profession is to kill people. So, she killed working class people by enforcing blockade-hartals in the name of political program.
The minister thanked the workers’ society as they did not participate in the hartals-blockade, endorsed by 20-party alliance.
