DHAKA: Owner of the collapsed tin-shed house and also a Juba League leader Moniruzzaman Chowdhury was arrested allegedly for killing people by renting the unsafe house on Rampura Jhilpar in city.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) picked up him from Chitrabazar area of Nishchintapur in Comilla district at 5:30am Monday.

RAB-3 operation officer Saiful Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said acting on tips-off, RAB team raided a house of Moniruzzaman’s relative in Chitrabazar area and arrested him.

On April 15, a total of 12 people died and 30 others sustained injuries when a two-storey tin-shed building collapsed in mud.
