Juba League leader Moni remanded

DHAKA: A city court placed owner of the collapsed tin-shed house and also a Juba League leader Moniruzzaman Chowdhury Moni on a five-day remand in a case allegedly killing people by renting the unsafe house in city’s Rampura area.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court passed the order on Tuesday, in response to a 10-day remand plea by police.

Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested Moni from Chitrabazar area of Nishchintapur in Comilla district on Monday.

On April 15, a total of 12 people died and 30 others sustained injuries when a two-storey tin-shed building collapsed in mud.
