COMILLA: Rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong and Chittagong-Sylhet routes restored after four hours of frantic effort on Friday.

Railway sources said the rail link came to a halt as four wheels of the Chittagong-bound train coming from Dhaka veered off track in an area between Laksam and Alishwar around 3:45pm.

A relief train from Laksam rushed to the spot and rescued the derailed one around 7:45pm.

However, there is no report of injuries in the accident.

Comilla Railway Assistant Executive Engineer Mustafizur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
