LALMONIRHAT: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot a Bangladeshi cattle trader to death in Burimari frontier in Patgram upazila of the district early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Antar Islam, 27, son of Aminur Islam of Burimari Colony Para area of the upazila.

Quoting locals Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources said the members of BSF opened fire at the cattle trader Antar and his fellows when they were retuning from India buying cattle, leaving Antar dead on the spot.

BGB Lalmonirhat-15 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Commander Colonel Ahmed Bazlul Rahman Hayati confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said they called for a flag meeting protesting the incident and asked for the reason of the killing.
