GAZIPUR: Two people were killed and three others injured after being hit by thunderbolt at Beldia village under Sreepur upazila of the district Friday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sreepur Thana A Motaleb confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said a man died on the spot and four others sustained injuries as thunderbolt struck them while they were working in the field.

The inured were taken to the hospital while one succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital, the OC added.
