SIRAJGANJ: At least 10people were killed and 50 others injured in a road accident on Bangbandhu Bridge link road (West) under Kamarkhand Upazila of the district Saturday afternoon.

Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

Quoting witnesses, Bangabandhu Bridge West Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Helaluddin told banglanews that driver of a North Bengal-bound bus lost his control over the steering due to sudden puncture and collided head-on with another bus.

Meanwhile, another passenger bus hit the second bus from behind. The accident left two passengers dead on the spot while eight others succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.

OC Helaluddin told that the death toll might rise.
