DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mourn for the death of suicide bomb attack at a mosque in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
However, at least 21 people were killed and over 100 injured in the attack.
They issued the condolence messages to Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud on Sunday.
Abdul Hamid strongly condemned the cowardly and heinous terrorist attack. He also prayed to the Almighty Allah to give Saudi brethren the courage and strength to bear the irreparable losses.
In the message, he expressed deep condolences to the family members of the victims.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace for the brothers who lost their lives and for early recovery of the injured.
The premier also expressed deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the majesty, the family members of the victims as well as all the Saudi brothers for this sad incident.
She said, “I would like to stress that any terrorist activity, no matter who does it and for what purpose, is a blow to the peace, humanity and all religious values”.
“I take this opportunity to reiterate that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and reaffirm that our government has been following and will follow a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards terrorism,” she added.
Sheikh Hasina also expressed that the government is determined to continue to work together with Saudi Arabia and the world community in fighting terrorism.
