DHAKA: Transport owners and workers association leaders on Monday evening have withdrawn their ongoing transport strike in country’s north and southern regions.

State minister for home affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal informed the media at 6:30pm.

Earlier at 3:00pm, representatives from the ministries concerned met the leaders of transport owners and workers associations at home ministry in city.

Shipping minister Shahjahan Khan chaired the meeting, attended by Transport Owners Association general secretary Khandakar Enayetullah and Transport Workers Federation general secretary Osman, among others.
