DHUNAT (BOGRA): Thirteen young men, who left Dhunat and Sherpur upazilas of Bogra district for Malaysia seeking solvency of their families, have been missing for last 19 months.
They started their journey to Malaysia using sea-route after being prey of the traffickers and remained missing.
The missing people are Saiful Islam, 35, son of Shahjahan Ali Sheikh of Bilkajuli village; Nazrul Islam, 34, son of Nur Mohammad Ali of Nabinagar under Dhunat upazila; Forhat Hossain, 25, son of Shihab Uddin; Rezaul Karim, 30, son of Yusuf Ali and Abul Kalam Azad, 25, son of Sakamuddin of Chowbaria village.
The list of missing also includes Firoj Uddin, 28, son of Nurul Islam; Al Mahmud, 30, son of Dukha Mondol; Al Amin, 31, son of Sabur Ali; Dulal Hossain, 26, son of Fazar Ali of Khanpur village; Mamun, 32, son of Mohammad Ali; Mahtab Hossain, 30, son of Abul Kalam; Shahadat Hossain, 30, son of Nasim Uddin of Darikhaga village and Rezaul Karim, 33, son of Mawla Box of Boyalkandi village under Sherpur upazila.
Locals said when leaving with the traffickers, the youths told them that they would cross the sea to go to Malaysia. But since then, the family members have not been getting any information about the fortune seekers.
The traffickers also out of reach from administration, even, the victims’ families fear to file any accusation to the administration.
