Now part of Hotel Sundarban collapses

DHAKA: The northeast portion of the basement of Sundarban Hotel in city fell down hours after the collapse of a part of its adjacent under-construction NBL Twin Tower.

The incident took place around 3:45pm.

Earlier in the morning, several parts of an under-construction multistoried building collapsed on Bir Uttam CR Dutta road in city’s Karwan Bazar area.

Witnesses said that the pilling part of the under-construction NBL Twin Tower, near the SAARC Fountain, fell to ground with huge sound around 7:30am.

The fall also led a concrete-built wall clock, adjacent to Sundarban Hotel, and some parts of footpath to collapse on the ground.

Being panicked, the pedestrians were running down to streets.

On information, police and Fire Service and Civil Defense personnel rushed to the spot.

However, no casualty was reported.
