DHAKA: War crimes accused M Shamsuddoha died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday.
He was 90.
Dhaka Central Jail senior jail super Forman Ali told banglanews that they admitted Shamsuddoha at DMCH on Monday.
He also said Shamsuddoha was an accused for crimes against humanity in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar district during the country’s war of independence in 1971.
After the arrest, the accused was sent to International Crimes Tribunal. Later, he was transferred to Dhaka Central Jail.
However, police arrested Shamsuddoha, who was one of 19 accused war criminals in Maheshkhali, from his relative’s house on May 23.
Police arrested seven other accused, including two top alleged criminals Salamat Ullah Khan and Mohammad Rashid, in that case.
Shamsuddoha was accused of killing four members of one Nurul Amin’s family, looting and setting their house on fire.
