DHAKA: A fire broke out at a showroom of Transcom Electronics in Gulshan-1 in the city on Friday afternoon.

The fire originated at the showroom around 3:30pm, said Nilofer Yasmin, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense Control Room.

On information, two fire-fighting units from Tejgaon Station rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control after one-hour efforts.

The cause of fire could not be identified immediately.

Officials concerned claimed several products   of the showroom burnt to ashes in the accident.
 
The loss caused by the fire could not be estimated, they added.
