DHAKA: A teenage boy was electrocuted at Madhya Rasulpur Rani Market in city’s Kamrangir Char area Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was identified as M Jibon, 17, son of Abdul Barek of the area.

The deceased’s elder brother M Harun told banglanews that Jibon came in contract with a live wire when he was walking in front of his house in the area around 5:00pm, leaving him critically injured.

Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead around 6:30pm.

DMCH police outpost assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sentu Chandra Das confirmed the matter to banglanews.
