DHAKA: Law Enforcing Agencies have begun working to ensure flawless security of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his entourages.
Special Security Force (SSF), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) members started taking measures jointly to ensure the overall security.
DMP and RAB sources said law enforcers had several meetings for the overall safety. As per decisions taken in the meetings, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and RAB headquarters have directed all concerned to join respective duties to ensure the safety.
DMP headquarters Joint Commissioner (Operations) Reza Mir Alam said a special security plan has been taken centering the visit of Indian premier Narendra Modi.
He also said as per plans, police protection, traffic and crime departments have been directed. Police will remain on alert position after Modi and his entourages landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport till left for India.
Special police surveillance will remain in the hotel (Hotel Sonargaon) where he will stay and all of the places which he will visit. The traffic movement will be restricted putting diversions on the streets, he added.
Senior Superintendent of Police of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN), responsible for security of the airport, Alamgir Shimul said several meetings were held among various agencies regarding the Indian prime minister’s security. APBN members were present in the meetings.
He said that the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) will work jointly with other law-enforcement agencies to ensure overall safety of Shahjalal International Airport centering the visit of Narendra Modi.
RAB media wing director Mufti Mahmood Khan said to ensure Modi’s security, RAB is working in the field like other forces.
