FENI: Two people were electrocuted to save a boy in Taltola Belal Colony in BSCIC Industrial area under sadar upazila of Feni district Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as M Yakub Ali, 35, son of Abdur Rashid, hailed from Comilla’s Nangalkot upazila and Jogmaya, 30, wife of Sukumar Debnath of Phulgazi upazila in Feni.

Locals said Yakub’s son Ismail came into contact with a live wire while playing in front of his house at noon.

Yakub and his neighbor Jogmaya were electrocuted while they tried to rescue the boy, leaving the duo dead on the spot and minor Ismail injured.

Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Feni Model Thana sub-inspector (SI) Ziaul Haque Tarique Khandaker confirmed the matter to banglanews.
