DHAKA: Miscreants gunned down a medicine trader in Mirpur No 1 area of the city early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Rasel, 40, owner of Medicare pharmacy and son of Abdul Mannan of the area.

Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sentu Chandra Das confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said some miscreants shot Rasel at his head in the area when he was in his shop around 12:00am, leaving him severely injured.

Locals rushed him to the DMCH where the attending doctors declared him dead around 1:45am.

The body was kept in the hospital for autopsy, the ASI added.
