NAOGAON: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) tortured and slaughtered to death a Bangladeshi in Kalmudanga border of Sapahar Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam, 30, a cattle trader, son of Mostafa Kamal of Kalmudanga village of the upazila upazila.

Police sources said that a group of local cattle trader went to Kalmudanga border to bring a herd of cow. At one stage, BSF chased them and caught Shahidul around 6:00am.

Later BSF slaughtered him to death after torturing and left the body inside the Bangladesh territory.

On information, relatives recovered the body and brought it home.

Inspector Jahangir Alam of Sapahar Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
