Heavy rain hits city

DHAKA: Heavy rainfall has been pouring in the city since Thursday morning, bringing immense suffering to the commuters, especially students and office goers.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has recorded 11 millimeters rainfall in capital between 6:00am and 7:30am. Met office forecasted the continuity of rain pouring for next couples of day.

Commuters have suffered a lot in the morning due to shortage of transports amid rainfall.

Heavy cloud covered the city sky around 09:55am, apparently brining darkness in the morning.

Rainfall has been continuing in the city till the filing of this report.

The rainfall occurred as trough of low lies over North West Bay and Southwest and monsoon has advanced up to central part of Bangladesh.

Light  to  moderate  rain or thunder  showers  accompanied  by  temporary  gusty or squally wind  is  likely  to  occur at  a  few places  over  Barisal, Dhaka, Chittagong  and  Sylhet  divisions  and  at  one  or  two  places  over  Rangpur,  Khulna and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Chittagong and Sylhet division, according to Met office.
