CHANDPUR: The launch plying on Chandpur-Narayanganj route has been halted due to the stormy weather from Thursday morning.

The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended the plying from 8:30am and will remain active till further notice.

Chandpur Port officer Mobarrak Hossain told banglanews that to avert any accident the BIWTA gave the suspension order.

However, Chandpur-Dhaka route launches leaving the terminal without disruption.

In Chandpur, heavy storm and thunderbolt has begun from 9:00am.
