6 held with Tk 40 lakh fake currency

DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained six members of fake currency making syndicate along with Tk 40-lakh forged notes in city on Saturday night.

DMP assistant police commissioner (media and public relation) Iftekharul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Iftekharul said that tipped-off, DB nabbed them with the forged notes and fake currency making equipments.

With the latest detention of these six, DMP reportedly detained 54 persons so far on charge of making fake currencies over the last one year.
