KISHOREGANJ: Three children, including two sisters were drowned, in Tarail upazila of the district Saturday afternoon.

The victims included Tania Akhtar (5) and Sumaiya Akhtar (9), daughters of one Abdus Salam of Mejgaon village and Jhuma Akhtar (7), daughter one Abdul Hye of Daudpur village of the upazila.

Locals said that the children went to a pond to have bath. They were drowned as they did not know how to swim.

Later, locals rescued their bodies.

Rauti Union Parishad chairman Iqbal Hossain Tareque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
