DHAKA: Bangladesh Railway will sell advance tickets from July 9 ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr festival and the sale will continue till July 13.

The return tickets will be also available from July 16 to July 20.

Railway Minister M Mujibul Haque disclosed the matter at a press briefing at Jamuna auditorium in city’s Rail Bhaban on Sunday.

The ticket sale will begin at 9:00am and continue till 5:00pm.

He said the tickets of July 13 will be sold on July 9, July 14’s tickets on July 10, July 15’s tickets on July 11, July 16’s tickets on July 12 and July 17’s tickets will be sold on July 13.

Moreover, people can collect the return tickets of July 20 on July 16, July 21’s tickets on July 17, July 22’s tickets on July 18, July 23’s tickets on July 19 and July 24’s tickets will be available on July 20.

The minister said to prevent tickets black marketing a passenger will be allowed to collect maximum four tickets.

However, security measures will be boosted up in rail stations and adjacent areas to avert any harassment of the home going people ahead of Eid festival, he added.
