BOGRA: Two persons were killed as a sand-carrying truck and a pickup van collided head-on on Bogra-Rangpur highway in Baghopara area of the district on Tuesday.

The victims have been identified as Asaduzzaman (25), driver of the pickup van and also a resident of Joypurhat district and Rahela Begum (32), a cook and also wife of Janab Ali of Bogra district.

Locals said, a sand-carrying truck (Dhaka Metro Ta-16-1319) was coming from Domar upazila of Nilphamari district collided head-on with a Joypurhat-bound pickup van (Bogra Na-11-0610).

The truck also hit a roadside restaurant, leaving its cook dead on the spot.

Moreover, the pickup van driver also died on the spot.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, western part highway police super (SP) Mohammad Israil Hawladar said that they have seized both the truck and pickup van.
