JESSORE: Two people were killed as a truck rammed into them in Hashimpur Bazar of Jessore sadar upazila of the district Saturday noon.

The victims have been identified as Matiar Rahman (45) of Hashimpur and Wajiullah (60) of Panchbaria villages of the area.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Jessore Kotwali Model Thana office-in-charge (OC) Shikdar Akkas Ali said the victims were having a chat in a roadside shop.

A truck coming from Magura hit them as the driver lost control over the steering, he added.

According to the OC, the accident left the duo dead on the spot.

On information, police rescued the dead body and sent them to Jessore General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The OC further said that they have seized the truck but the driver has managed to flee the scene.
