CHITTAGONG: Police arrested a youth with 1,900 pieces of yaba tablets from Baklira Thana near Shah Amanat Bridge of Chittagong city.

The arrestee has been identified as Mohammad Anwar Hossain (24), son of Mohammad Alam of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.

Bakalia Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Mohsin told banglanews that on tip-off police conducted a drive in a passenger bus of Unique Paribahan and arrested Anwar with 1,900 pieces of yaba tablets from his handbag.

Moreover, police has filed a case against Anwar under narcotic control act, he added.
