DHAKA: Advance selling of bus tickets at Makhali bus stand in city for holidaymakers ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival will start from July 8.

Bus Owners Association told banglanews that respective bus service counters will provide tickets for Rajshahi, Rangpur, Bogra, Naogaon, Sylhet, Biyabazar and Chittagong routes from that day.

In response to a question on why they were not selling tickets even after instructions by the concerned ministry, Bus Owners Association general secretary Abdul Malek said they talked with the ministry officials about that.

“We have been following this method in a bid to stop black marketing since the founding of this (Mahakhali) bus terminal in 1984,” he added.
