3 Bangladeshis among 9 killed in Saudi road crash

RIYADH: Nine people, including three Bangladeshi workers, were killed and 27 others sustained injuries in a road accident in Saudi Arabia early Friday.

Sources concerned said a wheel of a truck, carrying the workers, burst and fell from a flyover as the driver lost his control over the steering at Majma’ah of Saudi Arabia, leaving 32 people injured.

20 of the injured are Bangladeshis. However, identity of them could not be known yet.

The deceased were identified as Masud, hailed from Tangail Alam from Pakundia of Kishorganj and Wahed Ali from Jamalpur district.

Confirming the matter, Second secretary (labor) Mizanur Rahman of Bangladesh Embassy to Riyadh’s told banglanews that they all were employees of Al-Fahad Cleaning Company and worked as cleaners in Saudi Arabia City Corporation.

The injured were admitted to King Khaled General Hospital where doctors declared nine workers dead.

Of them, three Bangladeshis were shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as their condition is critical.

Dead bodies were  kept in mortuary of the hospital, says Mizanur Rahman.
