The ministry came up with the statement with the view to stop the recurrence of incident like Mymensingh.

At least 27 women and children were trampled to death and several others injured beneath a crush of people making their way to collect zakat clothes at Nurani Jorda factory in Mymensingh early Friday.

Meanwhile, Police headquarters (HQ) also on Friday came up with a directive that said information of delivering zakat or any such rally has to be provided to the police at least one day in advance.

AIG (media & public relations) of police Nazrul Islam said the Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque requested everyone to take the help of law enforcing agency to ensure security of people in any large rally like delivering zakat.

He further said there will be chances to inform the police superintendent or officer-in-charge (OC) at least one day in advance.

The police high-up also warned saying they would take actions for holding any such rally without informing police that would jeopardize the security of people.
