DHAKA: The autopsy report of a 13-year old boy Samiul Islam Rajon, who was beaten to death on accusations of stealing a rickshaw van in Sylhet sadar upazila, mentioned about finding 64 marks of beating.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Jalalabad Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews after receiving the report on Monday noon.

He further said according to the postmortem report, Rajon died out of brain hemorrhage.

Meanwhile, SMP constituted a 5-member investigation committee headed by additional deputy-commissioner (ADC) Rahmatullah on Monday.

On July 8, Samiul Islam Rajon, 13, was beaten to death in accusations of stealing a rickshaw van at Kumargaon of Sylhet sadar upazila.

Rajon was the son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman, a microbus driver in profession of Kandigaon union under sadar upazila of the district.

A 28-minute video clip on the brutal torture to the boy to death has gone viral on the internet, creating a firestorm on the social media.

Earlier on July 8, locals caught one Muhit Alam (22) when he was taking the body in a microbus (Dhaka Metro-Cha-54-0516) to dump outside. Then they handed over him to the police.
