SAUDI ARABIA: Expatriate Bangladeshis in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Monday handed over Quamrul Islam, chief perpetrator of murdering a 13-year old boy Samiul Alam Rajon.
Quamrul was handed over to Saudi police at Zamia area in Jeddah around 8:00pm Bangladesh time.
Acting Consul General (Jeddah) of Bangladesh embassy in KSA Mokammel Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
The expatriates held him after a request by Bangladesh state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam, who is currently visiting Saudi Arabia.
Mokammel Hossain further said the Saudi police will not keep Quamrul in custody as there was no case against him here.
“We have taken necessary steps to send him back to Bangladesh,” he added.
