6 killed in Rajshahi road crashes

RAJSHAHI: At least six persons were killed and 12 injured in separate road accidents in Rajshahi on Wednesday morning.

The accidents took places at Kharkhari Kukhandi of Motihar Thana and Baneshwar of Putia and Keshorhat of Mohanpur upazilas of the district.

Motihar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said a truck hit a van in Kharkhari area leaving one Jaynal dead on the spot and four injured.

On the other hand, a head-on collision between a truck and pickup van left two van passengers dead and three injured at 7:30am in Baneshwar.

Two of deceased were identified as Nazmul Haque (45), son of Hossain Ali and Mizaanur Rahman (40), son of Nurul Islam of Nachol upazila of Chapainawabganj district.

Baneshwar Highway police camp in-charge Fazlul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Moreover, a truck and human hauler collided head-on that left three dead and five injured in Keshorhat of Mohanpur upazila.

The deceased were identified as Keshorhat Digree College assistant professor Jahangir Hossain (40) and Yakub Ali Sabar (45), son of Ibrahim Hossain of the upazila.

Mohanpur Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Halim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
