JAMALPUR: Two motorcyclists, including an army person, were killed in a road accident in Badechandi Tarkata mill area on Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Shahinur Islam, 25, son Mobarak Hossain Dudu, and Shahin, 25, a member of Bangladesh Army and son of Mohammad Ali of  Rangamatia village of Jamalpur Sadar.

Locals said a speedy truck ran over the motorbike, riding by the duo, in the area while they were returning home from Nandina bazaar around 10pm, leaving Sahinur dead on the spot and another injured.

Injured Shahin was rushed to Jamalpur General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 11:00pm.

After running over the motorcycle, the truck plunged into roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering.

Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Awal confirmed the matter to banglanews.
