MUNSHIGANJ: Ferry, passenger launch, sea boat and engine-run trawler services on the Shimulia-Kawrakandi route came to a halt due to rough weather.

Authorities concerned suspended the movement of all small boats, trawlers from Shimulia Ghat since 1pm Sunday.  Besides, the movement of six dump ferries has also been halted.

Shimulia river port traffic inspector Tofazzal Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said services will resume once the situation become normal.

Due to disruption of ferry, passenger launch, sea boat and engine-run trawler services on the route, thousands of passengers are facing immense sufferings as several hundred vehicle remained stranded on both sides of the ghat.
