DHAKA: Construction works of elevated expressway from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Kutubkhali on Dhaka-Chittagong highway will begin August 16.

However, the project site will be handed over to the construction firm on the day.

The decision was taken in a meeting between road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader and construction firm Italthai chairman Premchai Karnasuta in Bangkok on Sunday morning.

Road transport and bridges ministry information official Sheikh Walid Fayez informed the media in a press release at noon.

The release said that the Dhaka elevated expressway will be built under public and private partnership.
