MADARIPUR: An eight-year-old child drowned in a pond in Kadirpur union under Shibchar upazila on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Saim, son of Lavlu Madbor from Forazikandi village.

The victim’s father said that Saim fell in a pond adjacent to the house eluding everyone’s sight in the morning.

The dead body was recovered from the pond at around 8:30 in the morning after a long search.
