DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday asked the media not to publish anything harmful for society.
She said that the information useful for people should be disseminated.
According to the PM, the information that harms society and creates confusion among people should not be made public.
Sheikh Hasina made the remarks at a program of lying founding stone of Ramna Media Centre in city on Wednesday morning.
She also asked the media to uphold the affect of extremism so that militancy can not get ground in the country.
The PM further called the media not to publish anything that make a bad influence among children.
‘Media should also work to create awareness among people regarding the BNP-Jamaat-sponsored violence so that the alliance cannot start any violent activities in future,’ she added.
Information minister Hasanul Hau Inu, PM’s information affairs adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury and parliamentary standing committee on information ministry chairman AKM Rahmatullah, among others, were present at the event, chaired by information secretary Murtaza Ahmed.
