CHITTAGONG: Top listed yaba kingpin Jahidul Islam alias Alo, 35, died in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members in Akbar Shah Thana area of the port city early Monday.
RAB Chittagong Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mifta Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews adding, “Alo and his aide opened gun fire at a patrolling vehicles of Rab and Alo was critically injured in the gunfight.
He was taken to hospital where succumbed to injuries and 20,000 pieces of yaba tablets, one pistol, four bullets and three anti-cutters were recovered from the spot, RAB Commander added.
On December 26 in 2014, police detained Alo along with 2.20 lakh yaba tablets and Tk 19 lakh raiding his home in Halishohor area. Later he got bail and continued his yaba business.
