DHAKA: Desmond Swayne TD, the DFID state minister called on foreign minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali at his office in city Sunday afternoon.

During the meeting the FM expressed deep gratitude for the continued British development assistance to Bangladesh since independence, particularly in education, health and sanitation, governance, climate change, natural disasters – and attainment of the relevant MDGs.

The DFID state minister appreciated the ongoing pace of development in Bangladesh.

He also mentioned that the UK wants Bangladesh to continue to play a leading role in the G77 and LDC groupings at CoP 21.

They also discussed various issues related to mutual interest of both Bangladesh and the UK.
