COX’S BAZAR: Police detained a drug trader with 10,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Nazirpara area of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district early Thursday.

The detainee is identified as Chan Mia, son of late Mujahar Mia of the area.

Confirming the matter, Teknaf Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Ataur Rahman Khondker told banglanews that on tip-off, a team of police conducted drive in Nazirpara area around 5:00am and detained Chan Mia with 10,000 yaba tablets.

The detainee will be produced before court after filing case against him under related law, the OC added.
