DHAKA: Bangladesh expressed its condolences to the United Arab Emirates who lost forty-five soldiers during their fight against Houthi rebels in Yemen on Friday.
In a statement, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali said, “We, the people and the government of Bangladesh, express our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Your Highness and through you to the bereaved family members as well as all the Emirati brethren.”
He also hoped that the supreme sacrifices the martyrs made for the noble cause will be remembered for long in the Emirates and beyond.
According to the statement issued on Saturday, Bangladesh expressed its support to the efforts undertaken by the United Arab Emirates in coalition with other Gulf and Arab countries to restore the peace and stability as well as to re-establish the legitimate government in the Republic of Yemen.
