MOULVIBAZAR: Dead body of social welfare minister Syed Mohsin Ali will be brought at home on Tuesday night (September 15).

Confirming the matter to banglanews, the deceased’s younger brother Syed Salman Ali said Mohsin Ali’s first namaz-e-janaza will be held on Jatiya Sangsad premises at 11:00am on Wednesday.

He will then be brought to Darjimahal area of Moulvibazar town, Salman Ali added.

According to him, Mohsin Ali will be buried on Shah Mustafa Mazar premises in the district after another namaz-e-janaza.

Earlier on Monday, the social welfare minister passed away at Singapore General Hospital in Singapore at the age of 67.

On September 5, he was taken to Singapore by air-ambulance for better treatment.

The minister was admitted to BIRDEM Hospital on September 3, with pneumonia, diabetics and heart-related complexities.

The freedom fighter left his wife, three daughters, relatives, party men and well-wishers to mourn his death.

During liberation war, he was the commander of CnC (Commander and Conquer) special batch in Sylhet. He sustained bullet injuries in face to face battle.

He was an elected lawmaker from Moulvibazar-3 constituency in 2008 and 2014.

Prior to become a Member of Parliament (MP), Mohsin Ali was elected as Moulvibazar Paurashava chairman for three consecutive terms.

He was born on December 12, 1948 in Kolkata of West Bengal.
