26 Bangladeshis held in Benapole

BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members held 26 Bangladeshis, including women and children, while trying to cross the border to India illegally.

They were nabbed in drives conducted from Friday 10:00pm to Saturday 7:00am.

BGB said that on tip-off, they conducted the drives on the border and detained 26 including women and children.

The traffickers managed to leave the place sensing the presence of BGB.

Later, the detainees were handed over to Benapole Port Thana.

Confirming the matter to banglanews Benapole Port Thana police sub-inspector (SI) Sjit said that cases have been filed in accusation of illegal border crossing.

They will be produced before the court, he added.
