DHAKA: Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Coast Guard personnel may be deployed if necessary.

The minister made this assertion after a meeting on the security during the upcoming puja festival. The meeting was held at his office in the secretariat in the city on Sunday.

The home ministry has taken decision regarding the deployment of Coast Guard personnel for the first time during puja due to the recent murders of two foreigners in the country, Kamal explained.

The BGB will be ready as in the previous years, he added.
