DHAKA: Police detained three persons, including a woman, from city’s Uttara area Sunday midnight on charges of cheating people identifying themselves as members of Detective Branch (DB) of police.

The detainees have been identified as Abu Bakar Sutlan, Jahidur Rahman and Ruma Akter.

Uttara West Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Ali Hossain Khan said members of the gang have been cheating people for long identifying themselves as officials of Detective Branch (DB) of police.

Acting on tip-off, police raided the residence and detained the trio around 12:00am. In primary interrogation, they revealed identity of some members of the gang. Drive is underway to nab the others.

Case was filed with the police station against the detainees, he added.
