DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the dream of ‘Digital Bangladesh’, introduced in 2009, has mostly been fulfilled.
People of the remote areas are now being able to communicate with relatives living abroad through video conference, she added.
The PM made this assertion on Tuesday afternoon at a reception program, organized by Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) on the occasion of the premier’s achieving ‘Champion of the Earth’ award on climate change and ‘Sustainable Development Award’ on ICT.
About achieving the awards, Sheikh Hasina said that the awards were results of collective efforts of Bangladesh people.
‘We want to build the nation together. We want to improve the lifestyle of people in the country,’ she vowed.
Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed, cabinet members, Members of Parliament, FBCCI president Abdul Matlub Ahmad, its former president Kazi Akram uddin Ahmed and business leaders attended the reception program.
