KURIGRAM: The dwellers of erstwhile enclave are now the citizens of Bangladesh. Dasiarchhara is no longer an enclave; rather this area is a part of Bangladesh’s Phulbari upazila.
“Phulbari is now a flower garden and each and every dwellers of this area are flowers.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came up with these assertions while addressing a rally at the ground of a proposed girls’ high school at Dasiarchhara Thursday noon.
She also said that her incumbent government has taken initiatives so that no dweller of the area lives in darkness.
“We have started constructions of three primary schools and a high school, and taken initiative to ensure mosque-based education, medical facilities and carpeting muddy roads in the area,” she added.
Later, the PM inaugurated a power line and distribution of solar home system under a program of Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL).
The premier returned to Kurigram district from Dasiarchhara after the rally. However, she will attend another rally at Kurigram Government College ground around 2:30pm.
Later, she will lay foundation stones of 16 development works and inaugurate 15 others.
She is expected to return to Dhaka this afternoon.
Earlier in the morning, a helicopter, carrying Prime Minister, reached Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district around 10:30am.
