DHAKA: A youth was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in front of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in city Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Arman, 18, son of one Nurul Huda, hailed from Companiganj Upazila of Noakhali District.

Confirming the matter, victim’s uncle Nur Nabi told banglanews that Arman was an employee at a cap selling retail shop on the premises of Baitul Mukarram.

Duty officer of Shahbagh Police Station Mamun Farazi said a passenger bus knocked Arman in the area while he was riding a bicycle.

Injured Arman was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty doctor declared him dead, he added.

He also said police seized the bus and detained its helper.
